CREATOR MOTHER
Maggie McCarey is a United Methodist minister, a college English professor and a devotee of the Divine Feminine as revealed in ancient art, history, early Christian writings, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and her own heart.
She believes that compassion, creativity, critical thinking, and beauty in the lives of both men and women make them witnesses to the divine feminine presence in the world. Maggie is currently collecting stories from individuals who have been transformed by discovery of the sacred dancing I Am into the mundane moments of their lives.
Maggie is a well-known storyteller and public speaker. She is a spiritual director and a wisdom teacher. She is a bible scholar who embraces knowledge coming from antiquity. Maggie offers workshops and retreats wherein people learn to use spiritual gifs such as healing, discernment, and prophecy.
She is the author of two books and her latest project: a CD storytelling series beginning with Creator Mother and other Lessons inspired by the Divine Feminine, a collection of stories from her childhood in Iowa and her early adult life in Chicago.
She lives in upstate New York where she serves a church and teaches at a community college. She and her mate Joseph are building a futuristic home on 14 acres where trees are safe. She also has three children and seven grandchildren with whom she has been contradictory enough to make their lives rich with potential.
Update: Maggie wondered why Spirit sent her to the Adirondacks where her church, a gray stone medieval castle, looms over the tiny village of Saranac Lake. She soon discovered something very unusual about this church and the reason she would be called to it. Stay tuned as the mystery unfolds!
